Bigelow Tea Community Challenge

Client: RC Bigelow Tea

As part of work completed under an internship program, on site in Fairfield, CT

To support an annual charity fundraiser and race, I was tasked with designing two unique shirts for adult and children to represent the Community Challenge event, while remaining respectful to the RC Bigelow identity.

Final Deliverables

Design

When I began this project, my goal was to create a cohesive series of t-shirt designs unified by a central motif—something that hadn’t been done before for this event. In the past, adult and children’s shirts often felt disconnected, lacking a shared visual language. During one of my first meetings with the race committee, I proposed the idea of tying all shirt variations together through a consistent design theme, and they were excited by the creative challenge I wanted to tackle.

I focused on striking a balance between playful iconography and bold, expressive typography that reflected the energy of the existing BTCC logo—lots of curves, dynamic lines, and a sense of movement. I wanted the design to spark excitement around Bigelow’s charitable efforts and the community spirit of the event. Since the race was set for late September, I also worked in subtle nods to summer through color and form, giving the shirts an extra burst of energy for race day.
